Privacy Policy — Niveshkar

Summary

Niveshkar ("we", "us", "the site") is a static website operated from India. Every calculator runs entirely inside your browser. Numbers you type into a calculator (loan amount, salary, contribution amount, investment value) never leave your device and are never written to our servers. We do not run a database, do not require a login, and do not sell or trade user data with anyone.

We do, however, use a small set of third-party services for hosting, anonymous analytics and display advertising, listed below. This policy explains exactly what those services do, what they collect, and how to opt out where applicable.

Who is the data controller?

Niveshkar is the data controller for any personal data processed via this website. We are based in India and operate under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. The data controller can be contacted at privacy@niveshkar.com for any privacy-related request, including access, correction or erasure.

What we collect directly

Calculator inputs (not collected)

Numbers you enter into a calculator (principal, interest rate, tenure, monthly investment, salary, deductions, and so on) stay in your browser. They are not transmitted to our servers, not logged, not stored, and not used to build any profile. URL parameters in shareable calculator links carry only the inputs you typed, are visible only to you and anyone you share the link with, and are not seen by us.

Email correspondence

If you write to us at hello@niveshkar.com or privacy@niveshkar.com, your email address and the contents of your message are retained for as long as needed to respond and for up to 24 months thereafter for follow-up reference. They are stored only in the inbox of the responding mailbox provider and are not added to any marketing list.

What our third parties collect

Cloudflare (hosting and DNS)

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare records standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamp) for security, DDoS protection and abuse prevention. This is the same data any website host collects to serve traffic. Cloudflare retains these logs per their own retention schedule and we do not access or export them.

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate, anonymous traffic statistics: page views, referrer, country, device type. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, and does not collect any data that can identify you individually. No banner is needed for this service because no personal data is processed.

Google AdSense (display advertising)

Once the site is approved by Google, Niveshkar may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. AdSense is a third-party ad network owned by Google LLC and operating from the United States, with data processing also in other countries Google operates from.

When AdSense is active on this site, Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to:

Serve ads based on the content of pages you visit on this site
Serve personalized ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites, where you have not opted out of ad personalization
Measure ad performance and detect invalid traffic

Common AdSense cookies include but are not limited to NID, IDE, ANID, DSID, __gads, __gpi. The exact list and lifetime is maintained by Google and changes from time to time.

How Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com. EU/EEA, UK and Swiss visitors are shown a Google-managed consent screen on first visit and can withdraw or update consent later from the same screen. California residents may opt out under the CCPA via the IAB GPC ("Global Privacy Control") signal, which AdSense honors.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site itself sets no cookies. The only cookies that may appear in your browser while using Niveshkar are set by Google AdSense once advertising is live, and are listed above. To clear them, use your browser's cookie settings; site functionality is not affected by clearing them.

Data retention

We retain only email correspondence as described above, for up to 24 months. We do not log IP addresses ourselves; any logs held by Cloudflare or Google are retained per their respective policies.

Your rights

Because Niveshkar itself stores no personal data about you (other than email correspondence you initiate), most data-subject rights have a very limited surface here. To the extent any rights apply, you may request:

Access: a copy of any email correspondence we hold relating to your address.
Correction: correction of any inaccurate information in such correspondence.
Erasure: deletion of past email correspondence, subject to any legal obligation we have to retain it.
Withdrawal of consent: stop further communication from us at any time.

For data held by Google AdSense or Cloudflare, please use the rights mechanisms in their respective privacy policies; those are the controllers of that data, not Niveshkar.

To exercise any right, email privacy@niveshkar.com. We respond within 30 days, which is consistent with DPDPA, GDPR and CCPA timelines.

Regional notes

India (DPDP Act 2023)

For users in India, Niveshkar is the Data Fiduciary. The complaint mechanism described above is the channel for grievances. Unresolved complaints may be escalated to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR / nFADP)

Legal basis for processing email correspondence is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) and for any AdSense-served personalized ads, the consent you provide via Google's CMP. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not "sell" personal information as that term is defined under CCPA. Where AdSense personalized advertising occurs, you may opt out using your browser's Global Privacy Control signal or via Google ad settings.

Children's privacy

Niveshkar is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 (or under 18 where a higher age applies under local law). If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete the relevant correspondence.

Links to other sites

We link to authoritative sources (RBI, SEBI, Income Tax Department, AMFI, DICGC) and to broker / fund-house websites in some long-form content. We do not control the privacy practices of these sites and are not responsible for their content. Review their privacy policies before sharing data with them.

Changes to this policy

Material changes to this policy will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and will be noted on the home page for at least 30 days. Minor stylistic or clarifying edits may happen without notice.
